In Style!

Some of my favorite pieces in my closet are black! I wonder why that is! Is it because it’s so slimming? Or is it because most evening type clothing is the signature style. It stands out for  sexy, desirable, and mysterious. It might be shoes, a purse, a jacket, pants or top but no matter what the item or style, black just seems to frame every outfit. Kinda like an eyebrow outlines an eye and defines the person in the face. I think I speak for all of us when I say I admire style in clothing and in the home. Both say so much about a person. I must mention, my couch is “black” leather and I’ve owned it for 16 years. It’s the best piece I’ve ever purchased. The quality is excellent, hence why I’ve had it this long and yet again it’s an accent piece in the room which frames it perfectly. Okay, okay, I know we may not all be a fan of black but can you honestly say you don’t own any in your closet or your home decor?

It’s back to school time, and I can’t not think of mamma, being me, when it comes to buying clothes. Plus if the truth be known I can’t walk around the mall and shop without wanting to look and buy something. It’s so hard to resist. Unless of course funds are limited, which was the case during this back to school shopping day. My kids just seem to like costly items the older they get. Another day, another topic!!

Anyhow, I  picked up the cutest top from Anthropologie and yep you guessed it, it’s “not black”, ha. But lone behold I styled it with my comfy, cool, loose black pants from lululemon. They might be two years old but you can’t go wrong when they’re black. They still look good and they’re still “in style”. So, it’s not just that the colour black is slimming, beautifully framing, sexy, or mysterious, but too, it is that the colour just doesn’t go out of style.
